Every year, very many surgeries take place on the hand or wrist, for example because of a fracture or a neurological condition. Together with the Diakonessenhuis and with the support of Zilveren Kruis, we have developed MyHand for these patients. The objective is that patients are properly guided with necessary information through one or more of the care pathways, and know how recovery can proceed. For this purpose, the patient provides the pain score and fills in questionnaires how the recovery is going. The score of these and the progression of recovery is transparent to the patient and the caregiver. Based on the last completed score, the healthcare provider can determine if action is necessary, contact should be made, or an appointment made. The goal is to thereby reduce the influx of non-necessary visits to the hospital and relieve the burden on caregivers. <\/p>\n

Together with Amsterdam UMC, IRecover has been developed. IRecover is intended for patients who are scheduled for surgery. The starting point is that a good recovery means that after surgery you can do (almost) the same in daily life as before. Through the application, the lifestyle pattern before surgery is recorded. The recovery advice is tailored after surgery the previous daily activities can be picked up again quickly and safely. Studies show that patients who use the IRecover app recover significantly faster from major abdominal surgery than patients who do not use the app (The Lancet). <\/p>\n

The app has already won several awards, including the VGZ Zinnige Zorg Award 2021.
